Description

If you are looking for a campsite in Småland with lake, forest and tranquillity right on your doorstep, Abrahams Camp is an accommodation that suits families, couples, groups of friends and larger parties alike. The site enjoys a natural setting in Abrahamshult in Älmeboda, on Lake Kalven in southern Småland, with Ronneby and the Blekinge coast within convenient reach for day trips. The atmosphere here is small-scale and personal, yet the range of facilities is broader than one might first expect.

The camping area offers 35 spacious pitches with electricity for caravans, motorhomes and tents. If you are travelling together with others, there is the possibility to stay close to one another. For those who prefer a roof over their heads, there are several options, including cabins for 2, 4 and 6 persons, B&B rooms, as well as a larger apartment for groups and families. This makes Abrahams Camp a flexible choice for anything from a relaxing nature weekend to a longer family holiday or group trip.

Above all, it is the proximity to the water that makes a stay here special. The campsite has its own beach, jetty and bathing platform on Lake Kalven. You can swim, fish, paddle a canoe, go out by boat or hire a SUP. Fishing permits are sold on site. For children there are playgrounds both outdoors and indoors, and in the large communal indoor area there are, among other things, table tennis, table football, darts, games and a reading corner – perfect when the weather is not at its best.

On site there are also family bathrooms, a communal kitchen and dishwashing area, laundry and drying facilities, a boules court, as well as barbecue and campfire areas. Bread service and fresh eggs from the campsite’s own hens make mornings especially easy. The cosy restaurant has around 50 seats indoors and a large terrace in summer, with seasonal opening hours for food service. For larger groups there is also a banquet hall and the possibility to arrange parties, weddings or corporate events with overnight accommodation.

Abrahams Camp is ideal for those seeking a lakeside campsite in Småland where days can be filled with activities – or with almost nothing at all. During popular holiday weeks it is advisable to book your cabin or pitch well in advance.

Directly from Abrahams Camp, you can walk and cycle along small roads and trails through the Småland countryside, and the well-known Utvandrarleden trail passes through the area. According to the site, the Monastery Cave and a rainbow trout lake are located approximately 3 km away, while Räntemåla Moose Park is about 10 km from the campsite. For a larger nature excursion, the area around Lake Åsnen is situated about 30 km away.

For grocery shopping, Handlar’n is one option. If you wish to combine a nature holiday with shopping, restaurants and more urban life, you can continue on towards Tingsryd or make an excursion to Ronneby and the Blekinge coast.

Within roughly 45–60 km there are several well-known excursion destinations: Eriksberg Safari Park, the Naval Museum in Karlskrona, Växjö, the Kingdom of Crystal and Kosta, as well as the Mörrum River for those interested in fishing. Anyone wishing to experience the archipelago can also plan a trip to Tjärö. The combination of lake, forest, hiking, wildlife and several major excursion destinations makes Abrahams Camp a good base for exploring both southern Småland and Blekinge.
