Description

Hello and welcome to Breviks Strand Camping! The camping offers a peaceful escape on the shores of Lake Vättern, with a wide sandy beach and stunning lake views. Here you can relax in a quiet atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful nature and enjoy summer days right by the water.

The campsite is located between Hjo and Karlsborg and welcomes both you and your dog. We offer spacious pitches for caravans and motorhomes, with or without electricity. The pitches closest to the lake are just 70 metres from the shore, giving you easy access to the beach and its stunning views.

There is also a large tent area where you can choose your own spot or you can book a camping pitch if you prefer electricity.

Breviks Camping has two service buildings. The larger one houses the reception, small campsite shop (offering fresh, warm bread every morning), toilets, showers and laundry room, as well as a microwave, oven and washing-up facilities. The smaller service building also has toilets, showers and a fresh, well-equipped kitchen.

On the campsite you will also find waste disposal points, facilities for grey water and chemical toilet disposal, as well as drinking water taps.

Nearby

In the immediate surroundings, you’ll find both the charming town of Hjo and the historic town of Karlsborg. Hjo is a beautifully preserved wooden town, full of character and well worth a visit. It radiates the atmosphere of a summer destination, yet offers plenty to enjoy all year round — from cosy cafés and restaurants to cultural events. Stroll along the picturesque harbour, visit local art galleries or simply enjoy the wooden architecture that earned Hjo its title as one of Sweden’s “Wooden Towns of Distinction”. For more tips, visit the official Hjo website.

For a memorable day trip, take the ferry to Visingsö and explore the beautiful island landscapes of Lake Vättern’s archipelago. Along the way, don’t miss the many cosy farm shops in the region, where you can buy bison meat, artisan cheeses, and other locally produced treats — truly a taste of the countryside.

Heading in the opposite direction brings you to Karlsborg, surrounded by lush forests and endless water views. The main attraction here is the impressive Karlsborg Fortress, a unique historical site where you can take guided tours, join treasure hunts and learn about its fascinating past.

Continue north of Karlsborg and you’ll reach Tiveden National Park — a natural gem known for its dramatic rock formations, crystal-clear lakes and ancient forests. Here you can hike, cycle or simply enjoy the peaceful beauty of one of Sweden’s most remarkable wilderness areas.
