Concarneau, 14 kilometres to the east, is home to one of Brittany's most photogenic attractions: the Ville Close, a walled medieval town built on a small island in the harbour, surrounded by ramparts and packed with artisan shops, galleries, and seafood restaurants.

The Glénan Islands, a protected archipelago 20 kilometres offshore, are accessible by boat from Bénodet's harbour and offer exceptional snorkelling, sailing, and beach relaxation in turquoise waters more reminiscent of the Caribbean than northern France.
