Camping pitch
4 Chemin du Céty
55190 Méligny-le-Grand
Nestled on the edge of the little village of Méligny-le-Grand, Camping des Saturnins is a small, serene campsite immersed in greenery — a peaceful hideaway for campers and motorhome travellers who love quiet, nature and simple pleasures. The site features a verdant orchard populated by old apple trees, a pear tree and a walnut tree, offering plenty of shaded spots for a tent or motorhome. From many pitches you’ll enjoy beautiful views over fields, meadows and gentle hills — a lovely backdrop at sunrise and sunset.
Though modest in size (the campsite typically offers just a handful of pitches) — this intimacy is part of its charm. Guests frequently mention the calm atmosphere and friendly, helpful owners who make you feel truly welcome.
Facilities cover the essentials: clean toilets and showers are provided. Electricity can be added as an option on grass or earth pitches, making it suitable for tents, caravans or camper vans.
Guests are welcome to use barbecues on site — perfect for a relaxed evening under the trees.
It’s also a dog-friendly campsite — just be sure your dog is microchipped or tattooed, and not from any of the restricted breeds per the site’s policy.
All in all, Camping des Saturnins offers the kind of unassuming, back-to-nature stay that gently whispers “slow down, breathe in, listen to the birds.” With birdsong, open skies, and a pocket of rural calm — it’s an ideal base for those seeking a genuine countryside retreat, whether for a night or a long, unhurried stay.

This part of northeastern France holds many surprises for travelers who enjoy exploring. Just a 50-minute drive from the campsite brings you to Lac de Madine, a beautiful boating lake and leisure spot — perfect for a day trip of swimming, boating or lakeside relaxation, depending on the season.
If you fancy a bit of history, culture or city life, then Nancy — about 55 minutes away by car — offers charming old-town streets, baroque architecture, art-nouveau influences and a vibrant atmosphere.
Closer to home, the region is sprinkled with inspiring natural landscapes — forests, fields and rural lanes ideal for hiking and cycling. For example, the forest known as Forêt Domaniale de la Reine lies within reachable driving distance and is a favourite for woodland walks and birdwatching.
Just a short drive from the site (around 15 minutes) you’ll reach the nearby town of Ligny-en-Barrois — a picturesque waterside town on a canal, offering local restaurants for when you’d rather let someone else cook.
Also worth a detour is the neighboring farmhouse EARL Des Saturnins: the very farm tied to the campsite. Here you can buy local duck products — magrets, foie gras, rillettes, confits and more — produced free-range according to traditional methods.
Whether you’re after peaceful strolls through woods and orchards, a day by the lake, a taste of local gastronomy or a cultural outing — the area around the campsite offers a delightful range of options without long drives.
