The Eden Villages Bela Basque is a 4-star family campsite situated in Anglet, in the heart of the French Basque Country. Nestled in a lush, wooded setting of 3.5 hectares on the heights overlooking the Étang de Brindos, this campsite offers a peaceful retreat with easy access to the vibrant Basque coast.
The campsite’s centrepiece is its 800 m² heated aquatic area featuring two large heated swimming pools — including a 100 m² indoor pool for year-round enjoyment — a tropical-style outdoor pool bordered by palm trees, a water slide for thrill-seekers, and a heated paddling pool for the youngest guests. Aquagym sessions and water polo matches are offered daily during peak season.
Accommodation ranges from fully equipped mobile homes (Confort and Privilège ranges, 1–3 bedrooms, 2–12 persons) to the charming Tit’home canvas lodges without sanitary facilities. Traditional campers can choose 80–120 m² pitches with water and electricity connections for tents, caravans, or motorhomes.
The campsite provides a multi-sports field (football, basketball), pétanque courts (boulodromes), table tennis tables, and a games room. The “Txiki” kids’ club offers creative and sporting activities for children during July and August, while family entertainment, themed evenings with Basque singing, and concerts ensure lively evenings throughout summer.
On-site dining includes Le Taldéa restaurant serving homemade, seasonal cuisine, a bar with a poolside terrace, a snack bar, and a daily bread and pastry depot. Practical services include a laundry room (washing machines & dryers), communal barbecue area, motorhome drainage station, electric car charging points, and Wi-Fi across the entire site. The campsite is also equipped for groups and seminars, with a dedicated meeting room for up to 80 people. Night surveillance operates during high season.

Bela Basque is ideally positioned at the crossroads of Anglet, Biarritz, and Bayonne — three of the Basque Country’s most iconic towns. The Atlantic beaches of Anglet and Biarritz are just 3.5–4.5 km away (10 minutes by car), offering 11 beaches in Biarritz alone, with world-renowned surfing at spots like Chambre d’Amour and Les Cavaliers.
The Sentier du Littoral (coastal path) begins just 6 km from the campsite, spanning 54 km along the Basque coast to San Sebastián in Spain. It’s one of the best ways to discover dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and seaside villages. The Pignada Forest and Parc Écologique Izadia in Anglet offer tranquil woodland walks closer to the campsite.
Biarritz (4 km) is a world-class surfing capital, home to the famous Rocher de la Vierge, the Aquarium, and the Cité de l’Océan. Bayonne (8.4 km, 15 min) is celebrated for its ham, chocolate heritage, Gothic Cathédrale Sainte-Marie, and its legendary summer festivals. The charming village of Bidart (6.4 km, 12 min) and the Musée Saraleguinea in Guéthary (9.3 km, 15 min) offer cultural excursions.
Further afield, the picturesque village of Espelette (famous for its peppers), the Bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (15.6 km), and the Edmond Rostand Museum at Villa Arnaga in Cambo-les-Bains (17.8 km, 25 min) are unmissable day trips. The iconic La Rhune cogwheel train climbs to 905 m altitude with breathtaking panoramic views of the coast and Spain.
The Spanish border is only 25 minutes away, opening the door to San Sebastián and the mysterious Zugarramurdi Caves. Golf enthusiasts can reach the Golf de Chiberta (2–3 km) or the Epherra Rustic Golf course (18.5 km). The Atlanthal thalassotherapy centre (3 km) and several spas in Biarritz offer wellness options. For families, the Zoo de Labenne (26 km, 30 min) and Planète Parcs trampoline park with mini-golf (21.6 km, 22 min) provide fun day outings.
The campsite is easily accessible: Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne Airport is just 13 minutes away, Biarritz train station is 5 km, and public transport is available 1 km from the site.
Swimming pool rules: Strict French swimwear code applies — boardshorts, shorts, thongs, burkinis, or any long clothing are not permitted in the aquatic area. Men, children, and babies must wear fitted swim briefs; women must wear a one-piece, two-piece bikini, or trikini. Non-compliance means denied pool access.
Pool hours: Low season 10:00–19:00 | July & August 10:00–20:00. Outdoor pools are heated from mid-May to end of September only (ecological reasons). Indoor pool available year-round.
