Camping het Koethuis

Camping Het Koetshuis is located amidst the rolling hills of Somogygeszti, a charming village in south-west Hungary, nestled in the idyllic countryside between Lake Balaton and the town of Kaposvár. The campsite is laid out in terraces on five levels and therefore offers a wonderful, varied view of the surrounding area - ideal for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet.

There is space for around 30 motorhomes, caravans or tents. There are water taps and electricity connections on every terrace. Some terraces also have paved pitches, which is a particular advantage for motorhomes. The modern sanitary facilities are built to Western European standards and offer 9 showers, 7 toilets and a barrier-free bathroom. All cabins are lockable - for maximum privacy. A washing machine is available for a fee.

The lovingly renovated Koetshuis - a former coach house from 1936 - now houses the reception, a small bar (drinks only), a lounge with TV, a library and board games. In front of the building, a large terrace with a view of the garden and pond invites you to relax. A covered outdoor area also offers shade on hot summer days.

The area surrounding Camping Het Koetshuis offers numerous opportunities for active holidaymakers and culture lovers. The small village of Somogygeszti is surrounded by chestnut trees, cornfields and forests - perfect for hiking and cycling tours (there are no signposted paths, so it's worth looking at maps or asking at reception for tips).

Kaposvár is only 25 km away, with thermal baths, modern swimming pools, monastery ruins, markets and shopping facilities. Lake Balaton is around 45 km away, and the Tihany peninsula is a popular excursion destination - accessible by boat or car.

Camping Het Koetshuis is the perfect place for campers who appreciate peace, nature and a personalised atmosphere. Due to the limited number of pitches, it is advisable to book in advance, especially in the high season. The reception is always available for questions, route suggestions and local recommendations.

The campsite is dog-friendly, provided the animals are kept under control. Wi-Fi is not available everywhere, which supports the digital detox and creates space for real relaxation. Bring comfortable shoes - many walks start directly from the campsite, including to the surrounding wine cellars, which are about 3.5 kilometres away on foot.

The atmosphere on the site is warm and familiar - many guests return time and time again, not least because of the helpful operators and the lovingly maintained grounds.
