route de paziols, Tuchan
11350 Aude
Camping La Peiriere is a charming family-run camping estate set amidst the green heart of the Corbières vineyards on Route de Paziols in Tuchan, where shade, calm, and countryside tranquillity come together to create a perfect holiday escape. Founded in 1992 by a former winemaker and entertainer and now lovingly managed by his son and a dedicated local team, this peaceful oasis of greenery has grown around 40,000 planted trees, providing most of the 73 pitches with shelter from the summer sun and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.
The site welcomes campers with spacious shaded plots, ideal for tents, caravans, and motorhomes, with electrical connections available on many pitches. A specially equipped service area for motorhomes makes it easy to top up utilities and empty waste before you continue your explorations.
Right at the heart of the estate, you’ll find a social hub where the reception, bar, and restaurant form a warm gathering place. The restaurant serves fresh, homemade cuisine — from pizzas and grilled meats to salads and local fish — and is perfect for families or groups looking to relax after a day of adventure. Reservations are recommended in high season to secure a table for dinner or on lively music evenings.
Refresh and unwind in the 190 m² outdoor swimming pool, complete with a paddling pool for little ones and sunshine loungers on the poolside lawn, open May through September. For extra relaxation, a private jacuzzi is available by the hour — an indulgence after long hikes through the surrounding vineyards.
Families will adore the mini farm where children can meet friendly animals, the playground, pétanque court, ping-pong table, and grassy spaces perfect for games and picnics. On select evenings, enjoy live music on the terrace under the stars. Free Wi-Fi in common areas, a self-service laundry, ice-block supply, and nearby walking paths round out the convenient facilities that make every stay easy and enjoyable.
Accommodation options also include mobile homes, chalets, lodges, and ecolodge tents, letting you choose between a classic camping adventure or more comfort-oriented glamping stays.

Nestled in the Corbières wine region, Camping La Peiriere is perfectly positioned between sea and mountains, offering endless opportunities for discovery and outdoor fun. The village of Tuchan is just a short walk or bike ride away, where you can explore quaint streets, local shops, cafes and weekly markets celebrating regional wines, cheeses, honey and olives — perfect for tasting and souvenir shopping.
Wine lovers will be delighted: your campsite is on the scenic Wine Route of the Corbières, with multiple nearby vineyards and cellars offering tours and tastings. In Tuchan and the surrounding villages you’ll find delightful local wine producers showcasing the best of the region’s Grenache, Carignan and Syrah varieties.
History and culture enthusiasts will want to venture to the Cathar castles — dramatic medieval fortresses like Château de Quéribus, Peyrepertuse and Aguilar — all within an easy drive, standing high above the rolling hills with breathtaking views and rich heritage. Nature lovers can hike iconic trails like sections of the GR367 that connect the Mediterranean coast to the foothills of the Pyrenees.
For family-friendly days out, river swimming spots and gorges are just a couple of kilometres from the campsite, while a variety of outdoor activities such as horseback riding, quad biking, cycling and paragliding are available around the Corbières and nearby mountain landscapes.
If you’re craving the coast, sandy beaches like Le Barcarès are about a 45-minute drive away, inviting you for sun, sea and coastal walks. The area also offers wildlife experiences like the Sigean African Reserve safari park and cultural gems such as abbeys in Lagrasse and Fontfroide, each less than an hour’s drive, perfect for day trips filled with discoveries.
Before you arrive, it’s helpful to know that Camping La Peiriere operates seasonally — generally from March through early November — with peak services available in summer months.
Because the campsite is family-run and restaurant seating can fill up quickly, especially in July and August or on live music nights, it’s strongly recommended to reserve your table ahead of time. The restaurant is typically open seven days a week in high season and serves lunch and dinner with takeaway options available.
While there’s free Wi-Fi in common areas, connections may be limited in outlying spots — another reason to unplug and enjoy the incredible outdoors! On-site laundry and ice services make longer stays comfortable, and dog owners should check animal policies ahead of booking.
The surrounding roads are scenic but winding in places, so allow a bit of extra time if you’re journeying from the coast or mountains. Local supermarkets, bakeries and additional eateries are available in Tuchan village, but during peak season it’s wise to stock up early in the day.
Whether you’re planning days of hiking among vineyards, wine-tasting adventures, relaxed lake afternoons or beach excursions, Camping La Peiriere offers an ideal base to explore the rich landscape of the Cathar country — a place to stay that often becomes a place to return to year after year.
