Camping Les Bö-Bains ****

A friendly four star campsite on 600 metres of shaded riverbank along the Dordogne, halfway between Sarlat and Bergerac, with two pools, a riverside bar and plenty for the kids.

Les Bö-Bains sits right on the banks of the Dordogne in Badefols-sur-Dordogne, with 98 pitches spread along 600 metres of shaded riverbank. The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly, the kind of place where children quickly find new friends and parents can finally slow down.

Two pools look out over the river. One is heated, the other is all about fun with a water slide and a paddling pool for the little ones, and both are open from mid June to mid September. In July and August the bar and snack-bar with its terrace become the heart of the campsite, with a mini club for children from 4 in the mornings, a sports activity every afternoon and evenings with themed nights, concerts, karaoke and DJs.

You can stay in one of the chalets or mobile homes, many with a view of the river and some right on the bank, or bring your own tent, caravan or motorhome to one of the riverside pitches. Pitches average around 110 m², all have water and electricity, and your car can park on the pitch at no extra cost.

The campsite lies in the heart of the Dordogne valley, between the Périgord Noir and the Périgord Pourpre. Sarlat with its medieval old town and the wine town of Bergerac are both within easy reach, and the area is dotted with bastide villages, castles and caves. The river itself is perfect for swimming, canoeing and fishing, and the valley is rich in protected wildlife. Right outside the gate there is a municipal tennis court you can use for free.

Rentals in June and September: arrival from 14:00 and departure before 12:00. In July and August: arrival from 16:00 and departure before 10:00. Pitches: arrival from 13:00 and departure before 12:00. Reception is open daily 9:00 to 19:00 in high season and 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 17:00 in low season. If you arrive late, call ahead and an envelope with your pitch number will be left at reception. For rentals, a refundable deposit of 200 € plus 100 € for cleaning is taken on arrival. Pets are welcome for a small extra fee. Groups of young people without a parent or guardian are not accepted. Wi-Fi is free at the bar, and washing machines and a dryer are available.
