Set on the outskirts of the beautiful medieval town of Guérande in Loire-Atlantique, Camping de l'Étang du Pays Blanc is a peaceful, family-run 4-star campsite built around its own private pond. Surrounded by mature trees and lush greenery, this is a place where nature sets the tone — birdsong is your morning alarm, ducks wander freely around the water's edge, and the pace of life slows to something altogether more restful.
Despite its tranquil setting, the campsite offers an impressive range of on-site facilities. The indoor heated swimming pool, maintained at 26–28°C throughout the season, is perfect for cooler days and comes complete with an aqualudic play area and a 3-lane water slide. For something more indulgent, the wellness area features a spa and sauna. Sports enthusiasts will find a fully equipped fitness room, bicycle hire, and plenty of space to roam. A snack bar, kota grill, and food truck provide flexible dining options, while the campsite bakery turns out fresh baguettes, croissants and pastries every morning.
Younger guests are especially well catered for. The mini farm gives children the chance to meet and feed animals, while the play areas are packed with trampolines, a bouncy castle, zip wires, swings and a large slide. Themed evening entertainment adds a festive touch to summer stays without ever disturbing the peace after dark.
The campsite also has a strong commitment to sustainability — solar panels, a heat pump for pool heating, low-energy lighting, and a selective waste sorting system are all part of daily operations. Dogs are warmly welcomed, and the campsite is open year-round, making it an ideal destination in every season.

Camping de l'Étang du Pays Blanc is perfectly positioned to explore one of the most diverse and beautiful corners of western France. The medieval walled city of Guérande — with its impressive ramparts, cobbled streets, and famous salt market — is just 5 minutes away. The iconic Guérande salt marshes, known as the "white gold" of Brittany, stretch out nearby and can be explored on foot, by bike, or through a visit to the Terre de Sel discovery centre.
The beaches of La Baule and the rugged Côte Sauvage are only 10 minutes away by car, offering everything from wide sandy shores to dramatic Atlantic cliff scenery and water sports. The Sandun Ponds, located just opposite the campsite, are a favourite for fishing enthusiasts and dog walkers alike. The mysterious Parc Naturel Régional de Brière — a vast peatland wilderness of reed beds, canals and thatched villages — is also close at hand and well worth exploring by boat or on foot.
For day trips further afield, the port city of Saint-Nazaire with its submarine museum and Escal'Atlantic is under 15 minutes away. Nantes, with its famous Les Machines de l'Île and vibrant cultural scene, is easily reachable, and the legendary Puy du Fou theme park in the Vendée makes a memorable full-day excursion.
The campsite reception sells tickets for local attractions including the Croisic Oceanarium, Terre de Sel, Planète Sauvage, Legendia Parc, and Gulf of Morbihan boat trips, so you can plan your days out without any extra hassle. Fresh bread and pastries are baked on site daily — you can even order ahead for delivery to your accommodation outside peak season. A grocery shop is open daily from April to September, and supermarkets are reachable within 5 minutes by car. WiFi is available on site (free for luxury and wellness accommodations; charged for others). Bicycle hire is available by the half-day, full day, or week. Dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead within the campsite. Cancellation insurance is available to purchase at the time of booking.
