17240 Girona
Camping Ridaura is a family-friendly campsite nestled in the lush Catalan countryside of Llagostera, striking the perfect balance between nature and convenience on the Costa Brava. Surrounded by rolling hills and trails, yet just about 10 minutes’ drive from the Mediterranean beaches, this peaceful retreat invites travellers of all ages to unwind, explore, and fall in love with the great outdoors.
The campsite spreads over approximately 4 hectares of verdant land, with over 200 spacious pitches (~80–120 m²) designed to comfortably host tents, caravans, and motorhomes. Each pitch features access to electric hook-ups, water points, and easy-to-maneuver drive-in access for larger vehicles, making it a prime choice for motorhome camping and traditional tent stays.
Camping Ridaura’s facilities are built around family comfort and convenience. Cool off in the outdoor swimming pool under the sun — complete with a separate children’s pool area — or let the little ones giggle and play in the well-equipped children’s playground. Shared spaces like the bar-restaurant with outdoor terrace, a small on-site supermarket, and spotless sanitary blocks with hot showers and modern amenities add layers of ease to your stay.
Additional recreational features include a sports area with football goals, a petanque court, bike rental options, and dedicated motorhome service areas for waste disposal and water refill. Camping Ridaura enjoys a fantastic location right beside the Via Verde de Girona (Girona Greenway) — a scenic cycling and walking route that follows historical railway tracks through beautiful landscapes. This path stretches for kilometres, offering travellers easy access to the countryside and coastal towns by bike or on foot.
Adventure seekers can explore the natural beauty of the Gavarres Massif, a protected area of forests, hills, and panoramic viewpoints ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife spotting. The campsite’s location makes excursions into this verdant nature reserve effortless and rewarding.
For beach lovers, the glittering waters of the Costa Brava coast are within easy reach — with popular seaside towns such as Platja d’Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, and Palamós all approximately 7–9 km away by car. These coastal hubs offer sandy beaches, beach clubs, watersports, and lively promenades with cafés and shops perfect for a day at the sea.
Cultural and urban explorers will appreciate that the historic city of Girona sits roughly 25 km north, featuring charming medieval streets, ancient walls, and a vibrant gastronomic scene. Local villages like Santa Cristina d’Aro are also just a few minutes away, offering traditional markets, restaurants, and Catalan heritage experiences.
Camping Ridaura is typically open seasonally from March to late September — this means most facilities like the swimming pool and children’s activities are available during these warmer months.
Unlike many campsites that allow pets, dogs and other animals are not permitted on the site, so plan accordingly if you’re travelling with furry companions.
Barbecues are welcomed, though only gas or electric barbecues are allowed on pitches, with shared barbecue areas provided at the campsite entrance for safe communal use.
The campsite is well set-up for family life, but if you’re arriving with a motorhome or RV, take advantage of the motorhome service areas for water fill-ups and waste disposal. Excellent road access from the C-65 highway means you’re never far from shops, supermarkets, or emergency services.
Finally, be prepared for a bit of rural tranquillity — Camping Ridaura is cherished for its calm, natural environment and relaxed pace, so guests who love nature, cycling, hiking, and beach days will feel right at home.
