Camping Simplonblick

Welcome to Camping Simplonblick, a peaceful and nature-immersed campsite tucked away in the heart of Raron, Valais. Here, you’ll find a beautifully maintained green space where you can breathe deeply, relax, and reconnect with the mountain world. The site covers about 4 hectares, offering a generous, open setting that flows naturally between shaded and grassy areas.

There’s no staffed reception — instead, you’ll check in and out automatically, and you can pick your own pitch when you arrive. The pitches are very spacious (around 100 m² or more), each equipped with a reliable CEE-16 amp electrical connection and easy access to fresh water.

The campsite offers modern, clean facilities: two sanitary buildings with free warm showers, toilets, and washbasins, plus private sanitary cabins that you can rent for more privacy. For campers, there’s a full disposal station for both black and grey water. You’ll also find laundry facilities with a washing machine and dryer, and covered washing-up sinks.

Eco-conscious guests will appreciate the recycling system, with bins for glass, aluminum, and PET bottles. When the weather is warm, you can take a dip in the solar-heated outdoor pool, perfect for cooling off. For kids and families, there’s a playground, a bouldering wall, and a boccia court to enjoy.

Staying connected is easy thanks to free Wi-Fi across the campsite. At the entrance, the Pizzeria-Ristorante Simplonblick invites you to unwind — enjoy pizzas, meals, or grab fresh bread rolls in the morning. There’s a lovely garden terrace and take-away options.

Camping Simplonblick is wonderfully positioned as a basecamp for adventure and relaxation. Just a short walk away lies the charming village of Raron, and you’re well-connected to public transport, so you don’t need a car to explore.

From here, you can set out on memorable day trips to some of Valais’s most iconic destinations: Zermatt with its legendary peaks, Saas-Fee, the stunning Aletsch Glacier, or the wellness paradise of Leukerbad. Hiking fans will also enjoy exploring nearby valleys like Lötschental or climbing up to Grächen.

For a more relaxed day, indulge in the thermal baths at Brigerbad, or soak in local culture by visiting Sion, known for its historic castles, old town, and fortress walls. Throughout your stay, the mountain scenery will keep calling you back to nature.

• Arrival & Quiet Hours: You can arrive until 10 p.m., and quiet time is strictly observed between **10 p.m. and 7 a.m.**So you can't depart earliest at 7a.m.
• Self-Check-In: Since reception is unstaffed, your check-in and check-out are fully automated.
• Waste Policy: Waste may only be disposed of in the mandatory orange bin bags. These are subject to a charge and can be purchased in the restaurant. The ‘Volg’ grocery store is located 500 metres from the campsite. You can also purchase the chargeable waste bags here.
• Pets: Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash and are not allowed in the sanitary buildings, pool area, or playground. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.
• Barbecues: You’re allowed to barbecue, but only with charcoal, electric, or gas grills. Open fires are not permitted.
• Utilities: Each pitch provides 16A power; wastewater must be emptied at the designated points.
• Swimming Pool: The pool is unsupervised; children under 12 should always be accompanied by an adult.
• Safety: An emergency plan is posted around the site, and in case of serious incidents, call 144.
• Liability Note: The campsite management is not liable for loss, damage, or natural hazards — this is a more back-to-basics, nature-first kind of stay.
