The area surrounding the Werratal campsite is full of opportunities - ideal for hikers, cyclists, families and culture lovers. Numerous cycling and hiking trails lead directly from the site through the Werra-Meißner district, one of the most beautiful natural regions in Hesse. A public outdoor pool, a riding school and a brewery are in the immediate vicinity - perfect for a varied day out without having to walk long distances.

Just a few kilometres away is the picturesque old town of Witzenhausen, known as Europe's largest closed cherry-growing area. Around 100,000 blossoming cherry trees transform the region into a sea of white blossom, especially during the cherry blossom season from mid-April to early May - an unforgettable experience!
