Campsite Kautokeino, also known as Kautokeino Jakt og FiskeCamp, is idyllically situated in the beautiful landscape of Finnmark – in the very north of Norway. The location by the water’s edge and only 8 km from Kautokeino city centre, makes this an ideal place for those who want peace and quiet, but also easy access to local services. The campsite is open all year round and is suitable for both outdoor enthusiasts and those who want to experience Arctic life in peaceful surroundings.
The facility offers a variety of pitches for campers, caravans and tents, as well as simple cabins for rent. All pitches are easily accessible, and many of them have great views of the water or the surrounding wilderness.

With its focus on hunting, fishing and outdoor activities, this is a perfect stopover for nature lovers seeking a true northern Norwegian wilderness experience. Campsite Kautokeino is located right in the heart of the Sami cultural landscape. Just 8 kilometers away you will find the center of Kautokeino, which offers a good selection of shops, restaurants, gas stations and a pharmacy. Here you can visit Juhls' Silvergallery - a unique goldsmith's shop and gallery of Sami crafts - or stop by the Sami Museum to learn more about the region's history and culture.
The area is an eldorado for hunting and fishing. Many people choose to fish in the surrounding rivers and lakes, which are full of trout and char. For hikers and nature enthusiasts, the area offers untouched nature with easily accessible paths and routes. In winter, this is also a great place for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing or ice fishing – and in summer you can enjoy the midnight sun in silence.
For those seeking nature experiences without too many people, this area in Finnmark is completely unique – and often underestimated. Here you can be alone with nature, but at the same time have comfort and facilities within reach.
It is easy to get to Campsite Kautokeino by car, whether you are driving from Norway or crossing the border from Finland – the campsite is located approx. 30 km from the Finnish border, right on national road 93. It is well signposted, and the entrance is clearly marked. The road is regularly plowed in winter, and the campsite is open year-round.
All guests have access to shower, toilet and kitchen facilities included in the stay. It is possible to connect to electricity, and there are separate areas for emptying and filling water. If you wish to rent a cabin, it is recommended to book in advance as capacity is limited. Pet owners must ensure that pets are kept on a leash and show consideration for others.
Nature is right outside your door, so pack for hiking, fishing or hunting if you want to experience the area to the fullest. In summer there are long, bright nights with the midnight sun, while winter offers magical darkness and the northern lights. Bring clothes for the season, and preferably a camera - there are moments worth immortalizing here.

Very nice place, with access to shower, bathrooms and sauna. We stayed here when we went hunting in the area, and the location was perfect.

Sehr hübscher Ort um mal zwei Nächte zu verbringen. Die Anlage ist gut gepflegt und an der Rezeption wird man sehr freundlich empfangen. Gegenüber gibts auch einen schönen Rundweg zum Beine vertreten.
