Description

Nestled in the tranquil Monts du Lyonnais, Chez Cin Azole offers a peaceful, family-friendly escape for campers, motorhome travelers, and tent-lovers alike. This micro-camping site, located at 141 Impasse de la Rivière in Villechenève, sits on a flat meadow of roughly 3,000 m². With space for up to 4 pitches, it maintains an intimate and calm atmosphere.

You’ll find single-sex toilet and shower facilities, open from March, 15 through October, 31. There is a washbasin for dishes, with both hot and cold (drinking) water, and an electricity socket to charge devices. For camper-van users: you must bring an extension cord if you want to plug in, as there’s no dedicated “camping” power outlet – just a standard socket and it's a central electrycity point.

Chez Cin Azole is a quiet site, with a rule that after 22:00 until 07:00, guests should keep noise to a minimum to preserve the peaceful setting. You are also asked to “leave no trace”: drop your trash in containers located 500 m away at “la Rivière”, and clean up after any pets (dogs are welcome). The host emphasizes water conservation: the site uses a septic-tank system, so only normal toilet paper should be flushed, and please report any issues promptly.

Important safety note: access to any private equipment, like a pond or “pool,” is not allowed, likely for liability reasons.

If you need help during your stay, you can reach the host via the doorbell from 09:00 to 22:00. (This comes from the information you provided.)

Coming to the feel of the place, there’s a real sense of freedom: 360° sky, very open countryside, gentle hills, a few scattered trees for shade, and no co-living with owners.

Nearby

From Chez Cin Azole, adventure and serenity go hand in hand. The famous long-distance GR7 hiking trail skirts the property, giving you direct access to scenic walks in both directions: uphill to panoramic viewpoints or deeper into the forested hills. The Bois d’Azole forest lies just a few hundred meters away, offering quiet trails for hiking and mountain biking under dappled sunlight.

A short walk leads you to the cozy village of Villechenève, where you can pick up fresh baguettes, local groceries, and perhaps enjoy a warm drink at a community café. Nearby, the town of Panissières (just a few kilometers away) offers more choices: bakeries, a pharmacy, restaurants, and a small local atmosphere perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

If you’re drawn to wine, you’re in luck: some of the Rhône’s finest vineyards are just a short drive away. And for a larger city adventure, Lyon is well within reach — its historic Old Town, cultural museums, and legendary gastronomy make it a perfect day trip or evening outing.

Families and nature lovers will appreciate local attractions too: there’s a llama and alpaca farm nearby, a botanical garden filled with colorful, dye-producing plants, and even a historic château to explore. For active travellers, forest walks and quiet corners make this an ideal base to slow down, connect with nature, and recharge.
