Ekeby Camping

In the middle of the Värmland forests, just outside Årjäng, you will find the wonderful Ekeby Camping. Here there are over 150 beautiful camping pitches that stretch over the large area and are suitable for caravans, motorhomes and tents. If you are interested in nature, you have found the right place.

There are a total of six different cabins to rent. If you choose to stay in the camping cabins with 3-4 beds, these are equipped with a kitchenette, fridge with freezer compartment, stove and sink. If you are a larger group, there is a 6-bed cabin and an apartment for rent. The 6-bed cottage has two separate bedrooms, a kitchen with kitchen equipment where there is also access to a dishwasher, fridge and freezer. In the cottage you also have access to a private bathroom with toilet and shower. Outside the cottage you have your own terrace with outdoor furniture to relax in.

If you prefer to rent the apartment with a private balcony, you can do so. The apartment has an open-plan layout with access to the kitchen, toilet and shower and can accommodate 5 people. The balcony has evening and morning sun.

The service building and common areas have access to a toilet, shower, baby changing room, laundry facilities and a kitchen.

Ekeby Camping is a family campsite and offers lots of activities and attractions in the area. The lido here is child-friendly with its shallow water and nearby playground. The campsite also has access to mini golf, beach volleyball and a football pitch.

If you want to hire a pedal boat, rowing boat, canoes and go out on the lake, you can do so at reception. You can also hire bikes if you prefer to explore the area on land. The kiosk and café are open during the high season and serve lots of refreshments and delicacies.

Västra silen has clear and clean water with really good fishing waters. Here you can fish for salmon, perch, pike, trout, vendace and whitefish. Fishing licences can be bought at the reception. The forest area around the campsite is rich in both mushrooms and berries to pick. In other words, you can make fantastic meals using nature's own pantry, and the campsite has a barbecue area to use if you want to grill the day's catch or other goodies.

If you want to explore the area, there are several things to visit within walking distance. The old village of Källtegens, with its timber-framed buildings and thatched roofs, has a village play in July every year, set in the days when almost the entire village decided to emigrate to America.

There is also an ancient castle that has stood here since the Bronze Age. On top of the fortress, there is a Borgåsgubbe built of boulders that gives an outstanding view over the lake and into our western neighbour Norway. Borgåsgubben is a stone statue that, according to folklore, was erected during times of war in the 1600-1700s to intimidate their enemies.

The area has a rich wildlife with several walking paths, hiking trails and jogging tracks.

Ekeby Camping is open from the end of April to mid-September, sometimes longer depending on the weather. During the month of July and early August, the campsite has open full service and a reception that is open from 09:00 - 21:00.

The campsite is suitable for people with reduced mobility and is adapted accordingly. Dogs are welcome. There is WiFi on site but reception varies.
