Description

Welcome to Evergreen Motto Sohodol Camping, an intimate motorcycle camping destination tucked away in the beautiful Apuseni Mountains of Romania. Imagine arriving after a day of winding mountain roads, parking your motorcycle under cover, pitching your tent beside the forest, and settling down to the sound of a nearby stream. This is a place made for riders who want to experience the freedom of the open road without sacrificing the peaceful atmosphere of a small outdoor retreat.

Managed by L.M.T. GROUP, Evergreen Motto is designed specifically for motorcycle travellers. The campsite has more than 30 pitches for tents and motorcycles, creating a relaxed environment where you can meet fellow riders, share stories from the road, and enjoy evenings around the fire. The emphasis is on a quieter, more personal camping experience rather than a large holiday park filled with recreational vehicles. The camping season runs from May to October, making it a seasonal base for exploring the mountain roads and natural scenery of the Apuseni region.

There are three accommodation options to choose from. The Tent & Motorcycle Pitch offers a naturally shaded grassy area of at least 40 m², with space for your tent and motorcycle nearby. The Premium Motorcycle Pitch provides a place for your motorcycle under a covered, supervised parking area, together with access to a 230V socket for charging compatible equipment. If you would rather travel light, the Safari Lodge Tent is already set up before your arrival and comes with beds and mattresses, so you can leave bulky camping equipment at home.

The facilities are designed around the practical needs of motorcyclists. You will find hot showers available around the clock, ecological toilets with standard flushing, free Wi-Fi throughout the campsite, a washing point for dishes, and a place to dry riding suits and boots after wet weather. Covered motorcycle parking helps protect your bike from rain and overnight dew. There is also a motorcycle washing point, while a basic toolkit, compressor and chain spray can be requested when needed.

When it is time to relax, gather at the barbecue and smoker area, where firewood is provided. With the stream nearby and woodland around the campsite, the atmosphere is especially appealing to riders looking for a quiet place to unwind after a long day on the road. The hosts speak Romanian, Greek and English and can share route suggestions for exploring the Apuseni Mountains. If you are looking for motorcycle-friendly camping in Romania with a distinctive atmosphere, Evergreen Motto is a memorable place to make your next stop.

Nearby

One of the biggest reasons to stay at Evergreen Motto Sohodol is the opportunity to explore the Apuseni Mountains by motorcycle. The campsite is positioned close to DJ 107I, the Transapuseana, a mountain road known for its sweeping bends, highland scenery and panoramic views. The campsite describes the route as extending for more than 78 km, making it an appealing choice for riders who want to spend a day exploring rather than simply travelling from one destination to another. The hosts can also recommend motorcycle routes based on your plans and experience.

For a scenic excursion, consider Huda de Lapte Cave, reached by a marked walking route of approximately 2.8 km according to the campsite. The route offers views towards the Arieș Valley and is a good option for combining a motorcycle ride with time outdoors. Nearby, the Răchița Peak and Lucia Cave area offers another opportunity to discover the region's landscape and natural history.

If you have more time, plan a trip to Scărișoara Ice Cave, one of the best-known natural attractions in the Apuseni Mountains. The campsite lists it at approximately 40 km by mountain road, while other accommodation listings give a road distance of around 42 km. It is therefore sensible to allow for a substantial part of the day, particularly if you want to enjoy the journey and stop for photographs along the way.

For history and culture, the Roșia Montană mining landscape is another worthwhile destination. This historic area is associated with centuries of gold mining, including Roman-era underground galleries. It offers a different perspective on the Apuseni region beyond its mountain scenery and winding roads.

The campsite's immediate setting is rural and nature-focused, rather than a beach or nightlife destination. There are no seaside beaches in this inland mountain location, and the available sources do not establish reliable walking distances to specific restaurants, bars or shops. For meals, groceries or an evening out, ask your hosts for current local recommendations before setting off. This is also a good reason to plan supplies in advance and treat the campsite as a peaceful base for motorcycle touring, outdoor exploration and time away from busy tourist centres.

Good to know

Evergreen Motto Sohodol Camping is deliberately different from a conventional campsite, and it is important to understand its main rule before booking: the campsite is exclusively for guests travelling on motorcycles. Motorhomes, caravans, campervans and converted camping vehicles are not accepted, regardless of the season or length of stay. The campsite's layout and facilities are designed around motorcycles and tents, rather than larger recreational vehicles.

The campsite does not accept ordinary passenger cars as camping vehicles either. Accompanying cars may stop in the parking area at the entrance only with the hosts' prior agreement. Cars equipped with rooftop tents are specifically mentioned in your supplied property information, so if you plan to arrive this way, confirm the arrangements with the campsite before making a reservation. This will help avoid confusion about whether your vehicle and accommodation setup meet the property's rules.

The usual check-in time is after 14:00, and check-out is by 12:00. If you expect to arrive earlier or leave later, contact the hosts in advance to ask whether an alternative arrangement is possible. The campsite asks guests to request availability and pricing directly; reservations can be made through the contact details on its official website. The team aims to respond to booking enquiries within 24 hours.

The campsite is listed as open from May to October, so check availability for your intended dates before planning a longer motorcycle trip. For sleeping arrangements, bring your own tent if you select a standard Tent & Motorcycle Pitch. If you choose the Safari Lodge Tent, beds and mattresses are included, making it a convenient option for riders who want to carry less luggage. If you choose the premium pitch, check your charging requirements and bring suitable cables and adapters for your equipment.

Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash in shared areas, particularly near motorcycle parking. Campfires are permitted only in the designated fire areas; lighting fires elsewhere is prohibited under the campsite's stated safety rules.

The road approach is another useful detail for riders: the campsite says access is via DN75 and DJ750A towards central Sohodol, followed by DC90. The final access road is described as paved, so guests do not need to plan for a gravel-only approach. Still, check current road conditions before travelling, especially after poor weather. Pack for changing mountain temperatures, bring appropriate riding gear, and leave room in your schedule for scenic stops. With a little preparation, you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the ride, the forest, and the quiet evenings back at camp.
