Flower Camping La Canadienne is a friendly 4 star family campsite in Arès, at the northern end of the Bay of Arcachon between Andernos and Cap Ferret. The site covers about 2 hectares in a shady oak forest, a short ride from the oyster port, the Saint Brice bathing area and the shops in the town centre, which is about 1 km away. You can stay on a spacious hedged pitch with electricity, on a Freecamp pitch with your own private shower, toilet and small kitchen, or in a Standard, Confort or Homeflower Premium mobile home, some of them air conditioned. One mobile home is adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
The heated pool is shaped like a boat and has a paddling pool for the little ones and sun loungers all around. It was even used as a filming location for the French comedy Camping. The restaurant and snack bar has a large terrace with a pergola next to the pool and serves pizzas, salads, burgers and tapas, also to take away, with bread and pastries baked on site every morning. In July and August the Kids Club welcomes children aged 4 to 12 three times a week, and the evenings bring DJ nights, karaoke, concerts and themed meals. There is a playground with a slide and climbing wall, a multisport court, a boules area, table tennis, a small grocery corner, a laundry and bike hire, and the Vélodyssée cycle route starts right at the gate. The campsite is a member of Flower Campings and holds the Accueil Vélo label.

Arès faces the Bay of Arcachon and is known for the Prés Salés nature reserve, where you can follow the coastal path and watch the many birds that live in the salt meadows. The calm, shallow beaches of Saint Brice are 3.5 km away, a lake is 1.5 km away and the Atlantic beaches are about 7 km away. Around 100 km of cycle paths cross the area, and one route runs from the campsite through the countryside to Andernos les Bains and its market. Take a boat to Cap Ferret past the Île aux Oiseaux and the cabins on stilts, taste oysters in the village of L'Herbe, or climb the Dune du Pilat, the highest sand dune in Europe. Arcachon, Lacanau and Bordeaux are all easy day trips.
