Route du Grouin
17111 Loix
Flower Camping Les Ilates is a 4 star family campsite in Loix, a quiet village on the north side of the Île de Ré, linked to the rest of the island by a single little road through the salt marshes. The site covers nearly 4.5 hectares and Grouin beach is a 15 minute walk away. You can stay on a grassy pitch with electricity and water, on a Premium Freecamp pitch with your own cabin, toilet, shower and kitchenette, or rent a mobile home, a cottage, a canvas Ecolodge or a cabin on stilts. The Homeflower Premium Plus homes come with beds made on arrival and cleaning at the end of your stay, and some have a private jacuzzi on the terrace.
From May to September the water park has a heated 20 metre pool, three water slides, a paddling pool for little ones and a whirlpool you can book by the hour. The restaurant and bar next to the pool has a big terrace and a stage for the summer evenings, and serves burgers, pizzas, salads and tapas boards, also to take away. Fresh bread and pastries are sold at reception, with a grocery store in high season. In summer the kids club welcomes children aged 4 to 12 on weekdays, teenagers get their own programme, and there are lively evenings five or six times a week. There is also a bouncy castle, a playground, a multisport court, table tennis, beach volleyball, pétanque, an outdoor fitness area, bike hire, laundry, Wi-Fi across the site and charging points for electric cars.

Grouin beach, a small sheltered cove of sand and pebbles overlooked by the old Fort du Grouin, is 750 metres away and supervised in summer. The centre of Loix, with its market, its square bell tower church and its craft workshops, is 1.5 km from the campsite. The Île de Ré has around 140 km of cycle paths, and by bike you reach La Couarde sur Mer in about 20 minutes and Saint Martin de Ré or Ars en Ré in about 30. Follow the salt trail through the marshes to the salt marsh ecomuseum, taste local oysters near the beach, or try stand up paddle, sailing, canoeing or horse riding close by. From the port of Saint Martin de Ré, 13 km away, boat trips go to Fort Boyard, La Rochelle and the Île d'Aix, and tickets are sold at reception.
Pitches are available from 14:00 and must be left by 12:00. Rentals are available from 16:00 and must be left by 10:00.
