Flower Camping LES MIJEANNES

A green island campsite on the river Ariège between Foix and Pamiers, with a heated pool, a mini farm and big hedged pitches looking out to the Pyrenees.

Les Mijeannes sits on its own island, wrapped by the river Ariège on one side and the Mijeannes canal on the other, with the mountains on the horizon. Séverine and Patrick run it as a calm, friendly family site where people actually get to know each other.

Pitches are large and separated by hedges, grouped in small clearings around a shared water point, so you get real privacy whether you come with a tent, a caravan or a motorhome. If you prefer a roof, you can choose between mobile homes, chalets, canvas bungalows, lodge tents and the cosy Coco Sweet.

Kids head straight for the heated pool with its water slide and paddling pool, the trampolines, the bouncy castle and the mini farm where they can meet and feed the animals. In summer there is entertainment for children, teens and the whole family, plus evening events and a local producers market. The bar and snack on the shaded terrace serves pizzas, burgers, ice cream and cold drinks.

The site has made a deliberate choice to help you switch off, so there is no wifi on the pitches or in the rentals. Free wifi is available around reception for anyone who needs it.

The river is right there for fishing, as it is one of the best fishing spots in the Ariège, and for a wild swim on warm days. A supermarket is 2 km away and the shops of Pamiers and Saint Jean du Falga are about five minutes by car. There is a lake around 10 km away, and rafting and canoeing close by.

Further out you can visit the castle of Foix, the prehistoric caves of Mas d'Azil and Niaux, the underground river of Labouiche, Montségur and the old market town of Mirepoix. Toulouse and Carcassonne both make great day trips, and the ski slopes are about an hour away in winter.

Rentals: check in from 15:00, check out before 11:00. Camping pitches: arrive from 12:00, leave by 12:00. Reception is open every day 9:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 20:00. Pets are welcome on a leash for a small daily fee and must be vaccinated and identified. River swimming is not supervised. Wifi is only available around reception.
