Getingaryds Camping has a lot to offer - if you feel like it. The campsite is located right by the water and offers you as a guest a swimming area, playground and mini golf course. If you want to hire a boat or bicycles to explore the area, these are available for hire.
Children can also play at the playground in the centre of the campsite. For the older ones, you can challenge each other to table tennis, boules or football.
The fishing waters are also good. If you're lucky enough to catch something, you can cook it later in the evening on the barbecue in the grounds.
There is a sauna to borrow at the campsite.
There is a kiosk where you can buy basic products such as breakfast bread and freshly brewed coffee and other simple foods. Drinks, sweets and ice cream can also be purchased. If you want to supplement this with something else, the nearest shop is about 9 km from the campsite.
There are several fun day trips and other things to do in the area. For example, you can take the ferry over to Visingsö, which is Vättern's largest island with an area of 25 square kilometres. Here you can feel the wings of history with countless stories of regicide and when Sweden was ruled from here.
9 km from the campsite is Gränna, known for its Polkagriskokeri. Here, candy canes are baked in the same way as in the old days. There are lots of fun things to do here. Discover historical sites, experience farm shops and restaurants with locally produced ingredients and dishes, cycle or hike on one of the area's fantastic hiking trails. At the campsite reception you will find all the information and inspiration you need for a memorable visit.
Other things to see and do include visiting Tåkern - one of Europe's most famous bird lakes, visiting Alvastra Abbey ruins and the nunnery or why not take a trip to the André Museum and Röttle By.
An hour away by car is Jönköping, Sweden's tenth largest city. It's full of restaurants, bars, shops and attractions. There are lots of fun things to do in Jönköping, a typical Swedish summer town. Along the pier you can enjoy a nice dinner in the sunset and the picturesque houses that surround the city. Several of the restaurants have received good ratings in the White Guide and offer everything from Japanese, Mexican, Italian and Swedish dishes.
This Småland summer gem is open from early May to late September. From midsummer to mid-August the campsite is fully serviced with the reception open between 08:00 - 21:30. The area is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
