Description

Welcome to Haugen Camping , a charming and affordable campsite idyllically located at Rødøyveien 11 on the island of Tro in Nordland. The site has been run with care and hospitality since 2022, and is perfect for those seeking peace, nature experiences and true northern Norwegian hospitality. Haugen Camping offers sanitary facilities with 3 toilets and 3 showers , divided into two changing rooms. One toilet is equipped with a changing table and sink, and there is also an outdoor toilet for easy use. In the outdoor area you will find a pleasant barbecue area where guests can enjoy meals outdoors - bring your own charcoal and firewood. Tro and the surrounding area offer beautiful and varied experiences. Only 100–200 meters from Haugen Camping you will find Troosen , a natural swimming area with brackish water – perfect for children and young people. South of the island is Trovika , a beautiful sandy beach that invites both sunbathing and swimming.

If you enjoy hiking, you should head to Røyfjellet , a mountain with spectacular views in all directions. History buffs can visit the Bronze Age graves in Tangen and the rock carvings in Trovika . Also nearby is Tro Handelssted , an old trading post from the 19th century with an exciting history.

The wildlife on Tro is rich – there are white-tailed eagles, deer, moose and many species of birds. The island also has unique plants and flowers, including wild orchids. For a unique experience, take the ferry from Harøysund to Bjørnsund , a former fishing village, or visit the iconic Ona Lighthouse at the far end of the Romsdal coast.
