Hede Camping

Hede Camping is beautifully located in Hede, Sweden, right by the banks of the Ljusnan River with the iconic Sonfjället mountain rising in the background. Set in the heart of Härjedalen, this spacious and well-established campsite is open year-round, welcoming nature lovers in every season.

The campsite offers 108 generously sized camping pitches with electricity, around 70 of which are year-round sites, making it ideal for caravans, motorhomes, and tents. The pitches are designed with plenty of space, allowing guests to park trailers, snowmobiles, or additional equipment next to their setup. For those seeking a simpler stay, 8 camping cabins are available, equipped with kitchenettes and sleeping space for 2 to 4 guests.

A well-maintained service building provides everything needed for a comfortable stay, including WC and showers, a kitchen, dishwashing area, sauna, and laundry room. Laundry facilities are available for a small fee and booked via reception. The campsite reception is located at Hede Tourist Office, offering assistance during weekday opening hours.

During the summer season, Hede Camping becomes a lively yet relaxed holiday base. Facilities include a heated outdoor swimming pool with water slide, mini golf, outdoor gym, dog run, playground, football pitch, and beach volleyball court. Guests can also rent canoes, kayaks, and SUP boards, perfect for exploring the calm waters of the Ljusnan River. Large green areas invite relaxation, play, and social gatherings.

In the winter season, the campsite transforms into a popular hub for snowmobilers and winter sports enthusiasts. It is located directly next to the Hede snowmobile trail system, and a prepared cross-country ski trail is available at the neighboring Hede Golf Course. Thanks to its central location, Hede Camping is an excellent base for day trips to major ski destinations such as Vemdalen, Funäsfjällen, and Lofsdalen.

Hede Camping enjoys a prime location close to both nature and village life. The campsite is situated just 150 meters from the Ljusnan River beach, offering swimming opportunities in summer and fishing opportunities all year round. Check-in for campsites is available all day, while cabins can be accessed from 15:00. Check-out must be completed by 12:00 for campsites and 11:00 for cabins. Bookings are handled via bokaharjedalen.se, with reservations generally required at least three days in advance, though weekday arrivals may be booked closer to arrival.

The restaurant on site is currently closed for the season, so guests are advised to plan meals accordingly. However, the fully equipped service kitchen allows easy self-catering. Final cleaning of cabins is required unless a cleaning service is booked in advance.

The campsite is operated by Hede Företagargrupp, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing tourism and local business in the Hede and Sonfjällsbygden area. This local commitment is reflected in the welcoming atmosphere and well-maintained facilities.
