Description

Nestled in the quiet village of Neuendorf, Horse Lake Ranch sits just 250 meters from the shimmering water of the lagoon — an irresistible spot for anyone longing for peace and a taste of the Wild West. The ranch welcomes you with three Western-style log cabins that bring rustic charm and cozy comfort. For a bit of historical flair, there’s a covered wagon and a large tipi — both available for overnight stays. Prefer a classic lodge feel? The ranch also offers a Texas-style lodge and an authentic saloon with two guest rooms.

For camping enthusiasts, there’s a small tent/camping area, perfect for caravans, campervans, modern tents — or something more adventurous, like a tipi. Every pitch comes with electricity, and central water is available. A real bonus: there’s an EV charging station on-site. The vast property features a large pasture where pony-loving hearts, donkey and goat fans can enjoy animals grazing peacefully — giving a genuine ranch atmosphere.

As evening falls, the shore of Horse Lake turns into a magical gathering place with a large campfire and BBQ area. Imagine the smell of grilled food, the crackling of fire, and the calm waters nearby — a perfect moment to unwind under starlit skies.

The owner’s Western passion began in his teenage years and deepened during time spent in Texas; he acquired the property in 2007 and welcomed the first overnight guests by 2011. Over time, the ranch evolved: the saloon opened in 2014, and since then more features — like the lodge and even a historic 1978 Cadillac Eldorado — bring character and charm. Ranch houses, covered wagon, tipi, lodge, camping area, animals, campfire and BBQ — all come together to create a unique, authentic getaway that merges rural nature with cowboy spirit.

Whether you dream of sleeping under canvas with animals roaming nearby, relaxing in a log cabin with a wood fire, or gathering with friends around a campfire by the lake — Horse Lake Ranch offers a special kind of escape. The variety of accommodations, the rustic charm, the animals, and the tranquil lakeside setting make it an ideal spot for families, friends, or solo-travelers seeking calm and adventure. Don’t wait: spaces — especially in the cabins, tipi, or lodge — are limited, and the magic of lakeside BBQ evenings is something you’ll want to experience as soon as possible.

Nearby

The lagoon and marina of Saaler Bodden are just a short walk (≈ 250–300 m) from the ranch — perfect for swimming, boating, or simply enjoying waterfront views.

For water sports lovers: the Bodden is a popular spot for surfing, kitesurfing and fishing. On-site or nearby you can rent a small boat (often without license requirement), or join excursions on the water.

If you enjoy cycling or exploring on land: from Neuendorf you can easily reach the larger surrounding region — the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst — by bike or car. This grants access to long sandy beaches, unspoiled coastline, coastal forests and charming villages.

Culture and local charm await in nearby towns: for example, you can visit the harbor towns, explore regional museums, enjoy fresh local food, or dive into small-town life. On some days, the ranch hosts live music and social events — giving you a chance to mingle with fellow guests or locals.

For families and those traveling with children: the surrounding area includes a small public playground in the nearby village of Saal.

All told, the combination of lakeside swimming, water sports, coastal excursions, horse-and-animal interaction, plus a rustic Western-style environment — make Horse Lake Ranch a versatile base for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both.
