Perched beneath the dramatic natural climbing wall of Gradiška Tura in the heart of Slovenia’s elegant wine region of the Upper Vipava Valley, Kamp Tura is a peaceful, highly scenic campsite set in a protected Natura 2000 area. The site is modest in size yet rich in character: it offers 10 caravan/motor-home pitches and 30 tent pitches. Although we don’t have a total acreage publicly listed, the pitch-numbers and layout indicate a boutique-style site rather than a sprawling resort.

Facilities here are ideal for active outdoor travellers and nature lovers alike. You’ll find two artificial-turf tennis courts, a 4-lane bocce court, a beach-volleyball court, a full-size basketball court, a handball court, and a five-a-side football pitch—all nestled into the lush hillside terrain. Children are well-provided for with a dedicated playground area.

For climbing enthusiasts, Kamp Tura sits directly beneath the Gradiška Tura wall and features an artificial climbing wall on-site, making the property a rare blend of farmland serenity and adrenaline-rich sport. Additional services: e-bike and bike hire is available, enabling you to explore the valley’s vineyards and routes with ease.

The site is open all year according to campsite listings — meaning you can visit in any season and enjoy the calm of the valley whether it’s summer’s sun or snow-touched hills. With panoramic views across the countryside, a rural road climb to access (1.6 km of asphalted pitch from the valley floor) and immediate access to off-the-beaten-track hiking routes, this is more than just an overnight stop — it’s a destination in itself.

You’re only a short drive from the charming town of Vipava (around 2 km away) where you’ll find quaint cafés, wine cellars, restaurants and shops. Adrenaline-seekers will relish the location: the climbing wall above the campsite, via-ferrata routes starting from nearby, and abundant hiking and mountain-bike trails right from your pitch.

A short drive will take you to the world-renowned Škocjan Caves (UNESCO) and theItalian port city of Trieste is reachable in about 45 minutes — making the site a clever base for both nature and culture.

From the campsite, you’ll find yourself in the middle of the Vipava wine-region landscape, with vineyards rolling into olive gardens and mountain ridges in the distance. After your outdoor excursions, you can return to the campsite and enjoy the on-site sports terraces or simply unwind with a glass of wine watching the valley glow in evening light.

• Access is via a steep, but well-paved road (1.6 km uphill from Vipava) which rewards you with spectacular outlooks and a quieter, elevated setting.
• The site is best suited for campers, caravans/tents and sports-savvy guests: it is not a large resort with water-parks or massive commercial amenities — expect rustic tranquillity and active atmosphere.
• Facilities include the full range of sports courts and playgrounds, but no swimming-pool on-site is referenced in official listings.
