Our 100-year-old restaurant serves homemade food prepared with passion using 100% local ingredients. Our speciality, the traditional Poronkäristys (sautéed reindeer), has been served here for over 40 years. You can also relax by the fire in our authentic kota and kota-laavu beside the crystal-clear river.

At Muotka Ruoktu, we welcome travellers from all over the world and speak 5 languages to help every guest feel at home. This legendary place, well known across Lapland for decades, was originally owned by a reindeer herder who is now 93 years old — and you may still meet him here from time to time.

His famous speciality, traditional Poronkäristys (sautéed reindeer), is still proudly served in our restaurant today and remains one of the true tastes of Lapland.
