Napapiiri Café - Karhunkierros Visitor Centre

Napapiiri Café is located in the Lappish village of Hautajärvi, right at the starting point of Finland's most famous hiking trail, the Karhunkierros.

This beautiful and natural campsite is the perfect base for both shorter hikes and longer treks in the stunning scenery of Oulanka National Park. The Napapiiri Café is not only a cosy café, but also a well-equipped visitor centre offering a wide range of services for outdoor enthusiasts and tourists.

Napapiiri Café serves as a gateway to Oulanka National Park and the Bear Loop hiking trail, which offers unforgettable nature experiences for all adventurous people. The Bear Loop trail starts right outside the visitor centre and offers both short day hikes and longer hikes lasting several days. Along the way, you will enjoy Lapland's unspoilt nature, clear streams and impressive canyons.

If you're looking for something more leisurely to do, check out the nearby Rytiniva cottage, just 500 metres from the campsite. Here you can swim, make a campfire or enjoy a picnic in the beautiful river scenery. With fishing and birdwatching also available, there's something for everyone.

Krakow and Salla also have local restaurants, bars and shops within a short drive of the campsite. The Sallatunturi tourist centre is around 45 km away and offers more activities such as skiing and spa experiences.

The Arctic Circle Café and the Bear Loop Visitor Centre are open daily from 8:00-18:00. When you arrive, you can enjoy a cosy café and the peace and quiet of nature. Please note that Wi-Fi is available at the campsite, but the signal can be variable depending on the weather and location.

For outdoor activities and hikes, it is advisable to bring warm and weatherproof clothing, as Lapland can be unpredictable in its weather all year round.
