TheArctic Circle Hermitage is a tourist destination specialising in fishing and nature, located in the Arctic Circle of Juokseng, just off Highway 21. This cosy manor area is about 5 hectares in size and enjoys a stunning location on the banks of the River Tornion, offering over 300 metres of private shoreline - the perfect place for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and fishing.

The Tornionjoki is known as an excellent salmon river, and at Eräkartano you can easily rent boats and fishing equipment (rods, hooks, etc.) on site. Fishing guide services are also available, especially for salmon fishing - ask our staff for more information.

There are spacious parking areas on the site, which are also suitable for larger combinations, such as buses. There is a covered campfire site by the river for shared use, inviting you to spend an evening by the fire in the lap of nature.

Napapiiri Eräkartano was established in 2021 and offers a modern, yet natural setting for anyone looking for a peaceful, Arctic experience. It is an ideal destination for passionate fishermen and peace-loving travellers alike.

Napapiirin Eräkartano is located in the middle of the untouched nature of northern Lapland, but still within easy reach. In the village of Juokseng and the surrounding areas, you can visit local shops, restaurants and cafés, all within a short drive.

Nature is the main attraction here: you can enjoy rowing on the Tornion River, go fishing, hike along the hiking trails or simply relax and watch the river flow. In summer you can experience the midnight sun, and in autumn the area is a great place to watch the northern lights.

The Arctic Circle's Eräkartano is a self-catering property where everything is designed to be easy to use and welcoming. Fishing on the Tornionjoki is permitted from 1 June to 31 August, with a weekly closed season from Sunday at 19:00 to Monday at 19:00. The minimum size of salmon is 50 cm, and the catch quota is one salmon per fishing day per angler.

Bring your own fishing gear or hire everything you need from the venue. Overnight stays also fill up quickly during the season, so we recommend booking well in advance.
