Description

Nestled in the heart of Montesinho Natural Park, Parque de Campismo Cepo Verde offers a peaceful and authentic camping experience in one of Portugal’s most breathtaking natural settings. Spread across a scenic highland rich with ancient chestnut, oak, and cherry trees, this family-friendly campsite is ideal for nature lovers seeking tranquility and comfort. The campground provides spacious, shaded pitches, perfect for tents, caravans, or motorhomes, ensuring privacy and a serene environment surrounded by forest.

The facilities are designed with both comfort and sustainability in mind. Campers have access to modern restrooms with hot showers, accessible facilities, a chemical disposal point, and a laundry area with washing machine. There's also a communal kitchen, barbecue zones, and a traditional wood-fired oven that still bakes bread weekly.

After a hike, cool off in the outdoor swimming pool (open seasonally, small fee applies), or relax while the kids enjoy the playground and sports zone with table tennis and basketball. The on-site restaurant and bar serve up delicious homemade local dishes such as wild boar stew and chestnut pudding, plus daily soups and fresh pizzas. Don't forget to check out the Guinness World Record-certified world’s largest pocketknife on display—an unforgettable attraction within the restaurant!

The campsite is certified by GreenKey for its environmental standards and is recognized by ICNF as an official Nature Tourism site. Since opening in 1993, it has become one of the top-rated campsites in northern Portugal.

Cepo Verde is a gateway to the wonders of Montesinho Natural Park, one of Portugal’s largest protected areas. Right outside your pitch, you’ll find clearly marked hiking trails through unspoiled forests and ancient landscapes. The site itself is located on a former Roman settlement, adding a layer of historic charm to every walk.

Just a 10-minute drive away lies Bragança, a picturesque medieval town known for its well-preserved castle, historical center, and regional cuisine. Local markets, traditional shops, and cafés await your visit. In June and July, guests can pick cherries directly from the trees around the site, and wild mushroom foraging is popular in spring.

Whether you're here for the nature, the culture, or the quiet, this area has something special for everyone.
