Description

Nestled deep within the peaceful countryside of South West Cornwall, Roskilly’s Camping offers a truly authentic and charming farm camping experience on a working organic dairy farm. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the Lizard Peninsula – the southernmost tip of mainland England – this small, family-run site is a hidden gem for nature lovers, families, and anyone craving simplicity, fresh air, and a strong connection to the land.

The campsite features a spacious, grassy field surrounded by mature Cornish hedgerows, freshly mown each week by your friendly host, Ben. With plenty of room to pitch a tent or park a campervan, the field offers peace, privacy, and space for children to run free. There are two handcrafted toilet and shower blocks, known for their pristine condition and warm showers – perfect after a sandy beach day or a long countryside walk. Two additional toilets are under construction for 2025 to enhance guest comfort even more.

A communal barn serves as the campsite’s hub, equipped with washing-up facilities, a kettle and toaster, freezer, phone-charging ports, and helpful local information. Recycling bins are also available, reflecting the site’s strong focus on sustainability and eco-friendly living.

But what really sets Roskilly’s apart is its working organic farm – home to Jersey cows, goats, chickens, pigs, and geese – all of which campers can interact with and feed. Add to that the on-site restaurant, serving locally sourced meals and famous organic ice cream made right on the farm, and you have a camping experience that’s as delicious as it is memorable.

Good to know

Roskilly’s Camping is open seasonally and tends to fill up quickly during school holidays and summer weekends, so it’s wise to book early to secure your pitch. Whether you’re bringing your tent or campervan, the site is spacious and well laid out, with level ground and stunning surroundings.

The communal facilities are basic but beautifully maintained, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay. The site does not offer electric hook-ups, aligning with its low-impact and eco-friendly ethos, so it’s ideal for those happy to go slightly off-grid. Charging ports are available in the communal barn, and there’s a real sense of community and respect among campers.

Pets are welcome, but due to the presence of farm animals, they should be kept under control. Quiet hours are encouraged at night to preserve the peaceful farm atmosphere. The on-site restaurant is open daily in peak season and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner – plus indulgent ice cream sundaes that are not to be missed.

Whether you’re exploring Cornwall or simply seeking time to reconnect with nature and slow down, Roskilly’s Camping offers an unforgettable farm stay experience in one of the most scenic corners of the UK.
