Sandslåns Vandrarhem & Camping offers unique accommodation close to nature on a historic island in the middle of the Ångerman River, only 4.5 km from Nyland and 21 km from Kramfors. Here you live with the water as a neighbour, surrounded by lush greenery and the rich history of Ångermanland.

The hostel can accommodate up to 70 beds in bright, cosy rooms for 2 to 8 people, some of which offer premium standard with double bed, sofa and TV. There are shared kitchens, showers, laundry facilities and a lounge, and some rooms are pet-friendly.

The scenic campsite has electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes, as well as large areas for tents. Here you can enjoy the freedom of nature camping - choose your own spot near the river or under the trees. The service centre offers showers, toilets, fresh water, latrine emptying and a kitchen. There are also simple pitches by the canal.

The island also has a bathing beach, barbecue areas, pedal boats, boat and guest harbour and a charming café. Sandslåns Kök & Bar offers well-prepared dishes such as classic home cooking, American and Mexican flavours, as well as local beer and creative drinks - perfect for a cosy dinner after the day's activities.

For groups, there's a conference room, camp school and year-round party facilities. Sandslån offers accommodation and experiences in a perfect combination of nature, history and cosiness.

Sandslån is located right in the heart of Ångermanland, with the spectacular nature of the High Coast at a comfortable distance. Just a few kilometres away is the impressive High Coast Bridge and the Skuleberget Nature Reserve where you can hike the trails or visit the Naturum.

The High Coast Distillery on the other side of the river is easily reached by boat taxi and offers flavoursome experiences with whiskey and local delicacies.

For sports enthusiasts, there is the Dannero racecourse, a paddle court, football pitch and several opportunities for hiking, cycling and fishing. If you want to immerse yourself in history, we recommend a visit to the Ådalen Industrial Museum and the rafting museum located on the island.

The towns of Kramfors and Nyland also have a charming range of shops, eateries and services, and offer further opportunities for both culture and relaxation.

Sandslåns Vandrarhem & Camping is open all year round, but the high season extends over the summer when most activities and events are organised. All camping guests have access to the service building where showers, toilets, kitchen and washing-up facilities are included in the fee. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer for a small fee. Bed linen is available for hire and some rooms allow pets for a supplement.

The restaurant and café has generous opening hours during the summer and offers both food service and take away. The reception desk can help you with bookings, tips on places to visit, and you can hire a bike or book a boat taxi. The island also has play areas, outdoor activities and plenty of space for relaxation and socialising.

Remember that Sandslån is an island with a bridge connection - you can easily get here by car, motorhome or bike. Once there, you'll have access to nature, water and history all in one stay.
