In the magnificent nature of Bergslagen, next to a small lake is the yoga retreat farm Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet. This is a retreat center with a wonderful family feeling surrounded by Swedish nature. A yoga community that invites teachers from all over the world.

It offers meditation, yoga, dance and a number of spiritual disciplines. Here you can let go of the world and give space and time to go deep into yourself.

After great demand and requests, there is now a unique opportunity for motorhomes, caravans and tents to take advantage of this fantastic place. The pitches are beautifully located right next to the retreat and are of course also suitable for a shorter visit.

The area around Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet is characterized by deep forests, lovely hiking trails, beautiful forest walks and above all a rich wildlife. Some of the neighbors that you find in the surroundings include moose, wolves and beavers. The forest also offers great opportunities for cycling.

The facilities in the area include two yoga rooms, library, dining room with wooden deck facing the lake, floating sauna on the lake, glamping tent, teepee with fireplace and separate forest cabins.

Ever since 2005 when the retreat started with the vision of becoming one with nature and living a dedicated life to community and yoga, this artist collective has been constantly evolving. Today it is a center that offers retreats, courses and several trainings. The retreat comes in many different forms depending on when in the year you choose to visit.

During the high season from May to September, Shambala is truly magical. This is when it is home to a large international community full of energy with many meetings. During midsummer, the festival atmosphere kicks in with bright summer nights and pleasant temperatures.

In winter, the area is usually immersed in peace and quiet, allowing for time and reflection. The low season takes place between October and April and is managed by a small team focusing on one retreat at a time.

If you need to supplement with something during your stay, both Ica and Coop are within walking distance. Skinnskatteberg center also has restaurants, pharmacies, system companies, kiosks at hand.

It is also worth mentioning that every summer a well-attended choir is held here, with both choirs and solo artists from both Sweden and other countries.

Shambala Gatherings, Borntorpet is open all year round. The entire facility is alcohol-free and is expected to be quiet after 22.00 every day. Access to wifi is available.
