Ställplats Grämesta

Hello and a warm welcome to our farm in Grämesta! We who run the campsite are called Madelen and Thomas and look forward to welcoming you. The farm, which dates back to the 1890s, is beautifully situated on the banks of the Ångerman River, right in the heart of the High Coast - in historic Lunde, Ådalen.

On our 4 hectares, we have created three separate parking areas with space for a total of about 35 motorhomes, four of which have access to electricity. The ground is level and firm, so you are stable whatever the weather. All around are the farm's older buildings - everything from log houses to a large barn - built from wood from our own forest.

There's even an old sawmill and planer, once used to process timber on site. You can tell that the place is steeped in history.

From the pitches you have a view of the river and the blue mountains on the horizon. There is a railway between the pitches and the river, but otherwise it is peace and nature that surrounds you.

We offer fresh water to fill the tank, as well as electricity for up to four motorhomes. (More electric pitches are in the pipeline.) However, grey water and latrine emptying is not yet in place, so it needs to be arranged before or after your visit.

It's important to us that you feel welcome - whether you're looking for a quiet night out or to explore the surrounding area. On the farm there is a scenic forest path of about 1.2 kilometres where you can walk, walk the dog or just enjoy the silence. Halfway along the path is our barbecue area with benches and a fireplace - a perfect place for evening cosiness overlooking the river. Next to it is a small playground for children (and playful adults!).

You are also welcome to visit our flea market/antique shop - with everything from curios and antiques to practical items. Just 500 metres away, there's a petrol station with a food court, café and snack bar. Nearby is also a car museum and the charming Wästerlunds Konditori - a K-labelled 1950s café that has been preserved in its original condition. A real trip back in time!

We love our village and are happy to share its history - not least about Ådalen in 1931, when the military fired on demonstrators here in Lunde. If you want to know more, we are happy to offer a guided tour and tell you about the events that shaped the place.

We are also involved in voluntary work for homeless dogs, mainly from Greece. At the moment, nine rescue dogs live with us on the farm. They are friendly and supervised, and you are welcome to borrow our fenced-in kennel if you need to. Pets are more than welcome here - both dogs and cats!

In addition, we grow vegetables on a small scale and organically during the summer months. Feel free to come by and look at our crops or talk garden - we are happy to share both tips and samples in season.
