Our nature camping follows one simple philosophy:keep it simple, keep it wild.

The pitches aren't perfectly levelled (nature rarely uses a spirit level), the sanitary facilities are clean but have a few years of character on them, and the waste-sorting station is refreshingly no-frills. What you get in return is the real deal — properly in the middle of nature, with gorgeous hiking trails right on your doorstep.

The site sits directly on Riksväg 50, and comes with a spacious, sparkling-clean shower available for unlimited use, 2 toilets, a dishwashing area, a generous changing room, a waste-sorting station, and — if you ask nicely — the option to do a load of laundry. That's it!

A few honest caveats: camping toilets can't be emptied here, greywater disposal is only possible to a limited extent, and beyond that, don't expect any extras — this is nature camping, not a spa retreat. Check-in is entirely self-service, with no staffed reception, so you're free to roll in and set up camp on your own schedule.

What you receive instead is the real thing — right in the midst of nature, with fantastic hiking trails just around the corner.

Before your stay at Timber Lodge Nature Camping, it is good to know that this is a campsite for those who appreciate nature, tranquillity and authentic outdoor life, yet with access to conveniences. Here, the best of two worlds is combined – the simplicity of nature camping and the comfort of modern facilities.

The campsite is open from May to September and is well suited for a summer holiday or an autumn trip. During the high season, especially during the popular winter activities and the summer holiday period, it is recommended to book well in advance to secure your pitch.

All pitches have access to electricity (at an additional charge), and the service facilities are of a good standard. Pets are welcome, which means the whole family can come along.

There are plenty of activities directly on site, as well as opportunities to rent equipment such as bicycles, bicycle trailers for children and skiing equipment, and to book guided tours. The staff are happy to assist with recommendations and bookings.
