Where Svea Rike ends and the sea begins is this gem, Väddö Havsbad & Camping. On the other side of the water is Åland and to the west inland you will find Sweden's oldest city, Uppsala.

The campsite has 75 camping pitches for those who come with a caravan, motorhome or tent.

If you want to rent a cabin, there are 5 in different sizes and standards. Each cabin has a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Bed linen must be used. You can of course rent sheets and towels at the campsite reception if you do not have them.

The service buildings and common areas have toilets, showers, washing facilities and a basic kitchen.

At Väddö Havsbad & Camping you can combine fast-paced activities with relaxation in the middle of nature. The fine sandy beach stretches for over 300 metres in the campsite area, with the forest as its nearest neighbour. Adjacent to the beach there is a beach volleyball court, mini golf course, boules court and a playground for those who want to get their heart rate up a bit between the relaxing beach hanging. On certain days in summer, the campsite organises fun walks and exciting treasure hunts that both children and adults can take part in. If you want to take a sauna, you can book it at reception.

In the camping area there is a cosy café selling light food, soft drinks, coffee, ice cream and sweets. There is also a service shop with a generous standard range if any supplies need to be purchased. During the summer, you can buy freshly baked bread at reception.

If you want to barbecue, you can use the barbecue area at the campsite.

In Älmsta village, which is about 4 km from the campsite, there are restaurants, a bank, post office, pharmacy, and a liquor store if you want to stock up before or during your stay.

In the area around Väddö Havsbad & Camping, there are plenty of small roads and paths for pleasant forest and beach walks. There are also plenty of berries and mushrooms in the area to pick. If you are keen on hiking, the Roslagsleden trail also runs here. Over 19 miles of hiking in varied terrain through pristine forests, beautiful lakes, historic sites, countryside and striking coastal landscapes await those who take on the task. In total there are 11 stages to explore. For those who want to know more about this hiking trail, the staff at the campsite will be happy to help you with any information you may need.

Other favourite spots near the campsite are Gamla Grisslehamn, Haken and Rönnskärs udde. If you don't want to get around by foot or vehicle, you can always rent a bike from the campsite and explore the surroundings on your own.

Other places to visit are Grisslehamn marina and Grisslehamn ferry terminal, which are about 20 km from Väddö Havsbad & Camping. Here you will find the Marina Restaurant in the harbour with a large and lovely terrace. The restaurant has full rights and serves both lunch and a la carte. Norrtälje municipality is a bustling tourist resort during the summer months with many events on the programme. Ask at reception about what's on when you're there! They will be happy to help you with tips and suggestions.

Good to know

Väddö Havsbad & Camping is open from the first of May to the last of September. From midsummer until mid-August, the campsite is open with full service with reception hours from 09:00 - 18:00. The site is adapted for people with reduced mobility. Guests have access to Wifi / Wireless internet. Pets are only allowed in certain rooms. Free parking is available on site.

Utlovade tjänster fanns ej,inget vatten,ingen dusch, toalett endast då cafét var öppet Stängde 16. Personalen i serveringen visste inget, svarade att ställplatsen inte var deras ansvar.

Trevlig liten camping som kan bli mycket bättre. Vid ankomst så hade de ingen koll på vår bokning via er. De har ett annat system. Någon plats var inte bokad för oss utan vi gå ut och välja en plats. Merparten av platserna är dåligt utmärkta. De har ingen koll på säkerheten då husvagnar/husbilar är placerade för nära vandra. Det finns enl. områdes kartan en brandväg som det stod husvagn på. Servicehuset är mycket slitet. Städerskan gör nog så gott hon kan med att få det se rent ut Toaletterna är vakumtoaletter med rör som går uppe i taket som såg ut att gå sönder när som helst. På damernas toalett var det en dag översvämning. Vi pratade med andra campinggäster och de hade samma uppfattning som vi. Inget att rekommendera i dagsläget. Vi har hund och det var många gäster med hund. Tyvärr får man inte ha hund på stranden ( stranden är c:a 300m lång ) Här borde man avsätta en del för hundbad. Om denna camping rustar upp servicehuset och har en mer tydlig markering av platserna så kommer vi gärna tillbaka. Mvh Jan Törnberg

Sunkigt servicehus och när jag duschat kom det in en man från personalen bad inte om ursäkt och gick utan jag skicka ut honom väldigt obehagligt och kränkande då jag var helt naken
