Vatungin Pooki

Welcome to a unique lighthouse experience at Vatungi Pook, located in the picturesque Vatungi area of North Ostrobothnia.

This maritime harbour village, which is also one of the first wind farms in Finland, offers its visitors the opportunity to stay close to nature and cultural history. The windmills, which are low-powered in the area, provide additional security without disturbing the overnight stay.

At Vatungi Pook, we offer our guests all the necessary facilities: electricity, a hut, a shower, a sauna, a water point, a toilet, access to the kitchen and a chemical toilet emptying and waste disposal point. There is also a swimming beach and windsurfing area run by the municipality of Ii, as well as a nature trail that will lead you to the Oolanni monument.

Located in the Vatungi region, Pooki is set in a beautiful environment, full of cultural heritage and natural beauty. The nature trail leading to the Oolanni Monument offers a journey into the historic environment just 600 metres from the harbour. In addition, the nearby beach offers a great setting for relaxing and spending summer days.

For those interested in fishing, the Vatung harbour area offers an excellent setting for fishing and angling.

When you arrive in Vatung, follow the signs for the area carefully. Vatunki is easy to find and is located about 40 kilometres north of the centre of Ii when you turn off the E4 motorway onto the North Coast Road.

Please note that the last few kilometres before the lighthouse can be challenging due to road conditions, so we recommend driving carefully.
