Description

Why Farm – Fattoria Sparacia is a small, peaceful agricamping and working family farm in Marano Ticino, Piedmont, surrounded by the countryside of northern Italy. The site offers just 3 spacious touring pitches, creating an intimate alternative to larger, busier campsites. The pitches are suitable for motorhomes, campervans and caravans and are equipped with electricity and a water connection, providing the essential services needed for a comfortable stay in the open air. Current campsite information also confirms that the site is open all year.

What makes Why Farm particularly special is that this is much more than a place to park for the night. It is a genuine agricultural farm with goats, a farm dairy and a farm shop where guests can discover locally produced goat cheeses, fresh eggs and seasonal produce. The farm's philosophy is centred around respect for animals and a close connection with the land. Guests can experience this lifestyle through farm activities and special events, including opportunities to learn about milking, cheese production and everyday farm life. The property also offers a B&B with three independent apartments, each accommodating up to four people, with equipped kitchens, air conditioning, garden views and free private parking.

Families are especially well suited to Why Farm thanks to its educational farm activities and close contact with the animals. Dogs are also welcome on the camping pitches, although they should be kept on a lead because this is a working farm. The on-site farm shop makes it easy to take home authentic local products, while breakfast made with local products is available for B&B guests on request. With only three pitches, the agricamping offers a quiet and personal atmosphere, so travellers looking for a peaceful countryside stop should consider booking ahead rather than waiting until the last minute.

Good to know

Why Farm is open all year, making it suitable for both a countryside stopover and a longer stay exploring Piedmont and the Lake Maggiore area. The property is a working agricultural farm, so guests should expect an authentic rural environment rather than a conventional holiday campsite. Dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead while on the property because of the farm animals.

The agricamping has 3 pitches for motorhomes, campervans and caravans, with electricity and water provided at the pitches. Importantly, the camping pitches do not have grey-water or black-water disposal facilities, so travellers should plan their waste-water management accordingly. Current campsite information also notes that there are no on-site shower facilities and no hot water. The toilet facilities are unisex.

The farm has a reception, parking, a service shop and activities for children. Farm experiences and special events can be arranged, including activities centred around goats and cheese production, but it is advisable to arrange these in advance. The farm shop is a highlight for visitors who want to take home authentic products made on the property.

For B&B guests, the accommodation consists of three independent apartments for up to four people each, with equipped kitchens and air conditioning. The B&B check-in is from 14:00 to 20:00 and check-out is by 10:00; late check-in after 20:00 carries an additional charge. With its combination of a tiny agricamping, working farm, local food and easy access to Lake Maggiore, Why Farm is a particularly appealing choice for travellers who want something more authentic than a standard campsite.
