The caravan site at Hoffnungsschacht is located on the site of a former mine in Klipphausen, west of Dresden. The unusual location on historic ground gives the site a very special charm - an exciting mix of industrial culture and nature. The spacious pitch offers space for motorhomes or campervans and impresses with its peaceful atmosphere and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

The area is level and gravelled, ideal for vehicles of all sizes. Electricity connections and fresh water are available. If you are looking for something special, you can look forward to an artistic ambience: there are art installations and exhibitions on the site that keep the former mine site alive.

The site's location in the heart of Saxony's Elbland region makes it the ideal starting point for exciting excursions: Dresden, with its famous old town, the Semperoper opera house and the Frauenkirche church, is only around 20 kilometres away. Meissen, with its world-famous porcelain factory and historic old town streets, can be reached just as quickly.

Hikers and cyclists will also get their money's worth: paths lead directly from the campsite into the idyllic countryside around the Tharandt Forest or along the Elbe. The region is rich in castles, wineries and charming country inns. We particularly recommend a visit to Wackerbarth Castle or a wine tasting in Radebeul.

Access to the car park at Hoffnungsschacht is best from the north - this route is also suitable for larger vehicles.

There is a small snack bar and events in the immediate vicinity - concerts, markets and art events regularly take place on the site.

A highlight for those interested in technology and history: the original winding tower and engine houses have been partially preserved or creatively remodelled - making your visit a real experience.
