Kalevala Camping is a peaceful, nature-oriented holiday oasis on the beautiful sandy shore of Lake Lammasjärvi, only about 4 kilometres from the centre of Kuhmo. The area, which extends over pine-covered ridges, offers plenty of space to breathe – here you can stay with a motorhome, caravan or tent, or opt for traditional granary-style lodging. The balance is just right: large enough to provide a wide range of services, yet sufficiently intimate to preserve an authentic wilderness atmosphere.

The heart of the area is its pleasant swimming beach, where the clear lake water and soft sand invite you to relax. For those with an appetite for culture, we recommend Juminkeko and Kuhmo Hall, both located approximately 3 kilometres away and offering exhibitions, concerts and events throughout the year.

For nature lovers, Lake Lammasjärvi and the surrounding forests provide unlimited opportunities for fishing, canoeing, hiking and birdwatching.

The centre of Kuhmo is only a short drive away, making grocery shopping and restaurant visits effortless. The saunas are heated regularly, and the smoke sauna offers a particularly memorable experience – it is advisable to check the schedules in advance. The site is well suited both to families and to active travellers, and during peak seasons the accommodation fills up quickly, so it is recommended to make a reservation well ahead of time.
