WELCOME TO VENNESUND CAMPING ON THE BEAUTIFUL HELGELAND COAST

Vennesund camping is a popular destination for fishing enthusiasts. We have guests from both Norway and abroad who come back year after year to fish. Here you can get cod, saithe, mackerel, catfish and halibut, among other things. We have 14 boats for rent in sizes 16 - 20 feet with outboard motors ranging from 25 - 60 HP. All boats are equipped with echo sounder and chart plotter.

If you have caught fish and want to cook dinner or take your catch home, we have a gutting house at your disposal. Here you also have the opportunity to freeze the fish before your return trip.

Vennesund Camping is a year-round campsite with well-insulated cabins. For those who want to experience the magical winter light in the north, this is the perfect place. There are plenty of photo opportunities for photography enthusiasts, and the northern lights often appear. If you are interested in birdwatching or bird photography, you have come to the right place - the area is an eldorado for various bird species, summer and winter.

We offer everything from spacious fishermen's cabins and cabins of a high standard to a simple "bike cabin" without a private shower and toilet. We also have parking spaces for motorhomes and caravans, as well as plenty of space for tents.

In 2018, we set up a new service house for our guests. Here you will find a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, washing machine and dryer, showers, toilets and a sauna.

The site has now been expanded with several new campsites on asphalt, and several pitches on grass. At the same time, we have renovated some of the cabins.

In the fall of 2025, we started work on expanding the area by clearing trees. This will make the campsite more open and sunny. The work is scheduled to be completed in April/May 2026.

We have also acquired a barracks rig that has been converted into simple and functional "mini-cabins". These are used when our other cabins are fully booked, or as an alternative for those who want a more affordable accommodation option.

In connection with the planning of the area, verandas are also being built on each "mini-cottage".

The mini-cabins are equipped with two comfortable beds, TV, table and chairs, shower and WC, as well as a simple but well-equipped kitchen with a hotplate, microwave, kettle and coffee maker.

In Sømna municipality, south of the beautiful Helgeland coast, experiences are endless – summer and winter. Here you can experience both the northern lights and the midnight sun, and everything from silent summer evenings to stormy winter nights.

You can rent a boat and go fishing, or take a leisurely stroll on the sea right outside the campsite. With no traffic jams, and with crystal clear, sparkling water, a stroll on the sea is an experience that brings peace to the soul.

The view from Vennesund camping will take your breath away. Here you have a panoramic view of Torghatten and Vega and The Seven Sisters.

Vennesund camping is an ideal starting point for activities and experiences – or for those who just want to relax. A short walk away is Norway's northernmost Olavskilde, which you can read more about here .

Just before Kvennvika you will find the starting point for Sømna's southernmost mountain hike – Sørfjellet. The hike from the parking lot to the top is approximately 1 km, and the peak is 217 meters above sea level. Here you can enjoy a fantastic view of Heilhornet, Leka and Vega, while looking straight down at Kvennvika beach.
