Camping Les Casteillets

Camping Les Casteillets is een kleine, gezellige driesterrencamping in Saint Jean Pla de Corts, in het rustige Catalaanse platteland van de Pyrénées-Orientales. De door een familie gerunde camping ontvangt sinds 1998 gasten en ligt tussen de Middellandse Zee en de Pyreneeën, met uitzicht op het Albèresgebergte en de Canigou, de heilige berg van de Catalanen. Er is hier geen verkeerslawaai, alleen vogelgezang.

De camping beschikt over 54 ruime staanplaatsen van circa 100 m², zonnig of gedeeltelijk in de schaduw en duidelijk afgebakend, voor tenten, caravans en campers. Eén voertuig is inbegrepen en een 10A elektriciteitsaansluiting is beschikbaar. Er is een camper serviceplaats op het terrein.

Er is een ruime keuze aan huuraccommodaties voor elk budget, van de Vacanciale en Cabane tot de Chalet Confort voor stellen en de standaard en Confort stacaravans voor families. De Premium stacaravans bieden tot 40 m² met drie slaapkamers en de meeste accommodaties zijn voorzien van airconditioning.

Op warme dagen kunt u ontspannen bij het verwarmde zwembad, geopend van half april tot half oktober, met ligstoelen en schaduwdoeken, terwijl de kleintjes genieten van het peuterbad. U kunt ook verkoeling zoeken in de rivier direct naast de camping. Er is een bar en restaurant, een kleine kruidenier, een speeltuin en een multisportveld. In het hoogseizoen verzorgt het animatieteam een gevarieerd programma met zumba, aquagym, voetbal en waterpolo, springkastelen en kinderactiviteiten overdag, en karaoke, pétanquetoernooien, nachtzwemmen, themavonden en cabaret in de avond.

Andere voorzieningen zijn wasmachines en drogers, wifi op de hele camping tegen betaling, een laadpunt voor elektrische voertuigen, en gratis uitleen van tafeltennisbatjes, gezelschapsspellen en boeken bij de receptie. Honden en katten zijn kosteloos welkom.

Two lakes lie just 2 km from the campsite and can be reached on foot. In summer they offer supervised swimming, a wakepark, a treetop adventure course, pedal boats, inflatable water games and the lakeside restaurant La Guinguette du Lac. A 2 km path around the lake is lovely for a walk or bike ride, with the Canigou in view.

Céret, the town of artists once home to Picasso, is about 4 km away. Visit the Museum of Modern Art, the medieval Devil's Bridge over the Tech and the old town with its fountains and cobbled streets. The Saturday morning market runs all year, and in late May the town celebrates its famous cherries. The Tech cycle path links Céret with the Mediterranean.

The thermal baths of Le Boulou are 5 km away and those of Amélie les Bains around 12 km. The sea is about 30 minutes by car, with Argelès sur Mer 25 km away and Collioure, Port Vendres and Banyuls along the Côte Vermeille. Spain is only 15 minutes away: shop in Le Perthus and La Jonquera, or continue to the Costa Brava, Figueres and Girona. In winter the nearest ski resorts are about an hour and a half away.

Rentals are available from 16:00 on arrival day and must be vacated by 10:00 on departure day, after a check out inspection booked at reception. Pitches are available from 12:00 and must be vacated by 12:00. If you arrive late, please call reception and they will tell you how to settle in.

Rental guests clean the unit themselves before leaving, or can book a cleaning package at reception. Bed linen and blankets are not provided but can be rented. A baby kit can be borrowed on request. One parking space is included on your plot, and you may only park on your own pitch.

Individual charcoal and electric barbecues are not allowed. Pets must be identified and vaccinated, one animal per pitch, and they cannot be left alone. Dogs of category 1 and 2 are not accepted. Pets are not allowed at the pool. The pool is not supervised, swim shorts are not allowed, and in season a campsite wristband is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors must register at reception and do not have access to the pool.

Reception speaks French, English, Spanish and German.
