Welcome to Thürkies SeeCamping, a beautiful waterfront campsite on the southern shore of Alperstedter See, just outside Erfurt in Thuringia — one of Germany’s most charming regions. This scenic site is perfect for families, couples, and outdoor lovers looking for a relaxed lake holiday with excellent facilities and a wide range of activities right at your fingertips.
Set across approximately 70 pitches plus a grassy tent meadow, the campsite offers direct access to the turquoise waters of Alperstedter Lake, making it an ideal choice for swimming, water sports, or simply soaking up the sun on the shore. Whether you bring your caravan, camper, or tent, you’ll find generous, grass-based pitches, many with electric hookups, fresh water and chemical toilet disposal included.
On site, you’ll enjoy essential comforts such as clean sanitary facilities with warm-water showers and toilets, washing machine access, and greywater disposal. Free Wi-Fi across the campsite keeps you connected, while practical extras such as Tyczka gas cylinder service, a bread roll service (typically weekends), and a covered cooking area make everyday camping easy.
For leisurely days, there’s a beach bar and on-site snack options (weather dependent), a children’s playground, and a beach volleyball court, all framed by panoramic lake views. Watersports lovers can dive into activities like stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, sailing, surfing, and angling straight from the shore.

Thürkies SeeCamping is perfectly positioned for exploring both natural and cultural highlights of central Germany. The campsite lies on Alperstedter See, the largest lake of the Erfurt area, with beaches, sunbathing lawns, and watersport zones just steps away. A network of scenic cycle paths — including connections to the Gera and Unstrut routes — runs past the site, offering effortless day rides through Thuringia’s countryside vineyards, river landscapes, and charming villages.
Just 1 km from the site’s edge you’ll find public transport connections, making it convenient to visit the historic Altstadt (Old Town) of Erfurt — a city rich in medieval architecture, boutiques, cafés, and cultural attractions. Within a short drive or cycle ride, discover Naturschutzgebiet Alperstedter Ried (a nature reserve ideal for birdwatching and walking), or head into town for museums, restaurants, and shopping.
If you’re planning excursions further afield, Weimar’s classical heritage and UNESCO sites or the Thuringian Forest’s outdoor trails are accessible within under an hour by car, making this an excellent base for diverse day trips.
Arrival at Thürkies SeeCamping usually begins in the afternoon, and pitches should be vacated by late morning on departure day. A night driving ban is often in place, so guests are asked to respect quiet hours, and visitors must leave the site by a designated time unless a late checkout is arranged.
Dogs are welcome but should be declared at booking and kept on a leash. Food and beverage options are available on site, and local supermarkets and restaurants are within easy reach if you want to explore further.
The campsite is well suited to both short stays and longer holidays — whether you’re here to explore Erfurt, cycle the Thuringian routes, or simply relax beside turquoise waters. It offers a blend of natural beauty and practical facilities that make it easy to unwind and enjoy your time outdoors.
